Project

Marenica Ventures (Pty) Ltd intends to carry out exploration activities of nuclear fuels on the Exclusive Prospecting Licence (EPL) 9657 known as the Koppies West Project. If warranted, Marenica Ventures (Pty) Ltd will conduct geological mapping, geochemical and ground and airborne geophysical surveys, and drilling (RAB, RC or DD/core drilling). The EPL is located in the Namib-Naukluft National Park approximately 80 km northeast of Walvis Bay off the C14.

ECC’s Role

Environmental Compliance Consultancy (Pty) Ltd (ECC) has been engaged by Marenica Ventures (Pty) Ltd to conduct an environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) and develop an environmental management plan (EMP), for the exploration activities of nuclear fuels in the Erongo Region, Namibia on exclusive prospecting licence (EPL) 9657. Consistent with the Environmental Management Act, 2007 and its regulations an environmental clearance certificate application will be submitted to the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) as the competent authority and the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT) for the Project, to make a Record of Decision (RoD) with regards to the proposed project.
