Environmental Compliance Consultancy (ECC) has been contracted by Osino Gold Exploration and Mining (Pty) Ltd. OGEM manages operations in Namibia as a wholly owned Shanjin International Gold Co. ECC is conducting an ESIA for the proposed mining of precious metals on Mining Licence 238 (ML 238), located near the town of Karibib, Erongo Region, Namibia.
The original assessment was submitted to the Ministry of Industries, Mines and Energy (MIME) as the competent authority and the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT) in March 2022, and RoD approval was granted on the 3rd of November 2022.
Since then, the Proponent has reviewed their operational requirements and an amendment to the original ESIA is required, as updates and changes to the site layout and proposed infrastructure have been finalised. Therefore, these noted changes and potential related impacts have been re-assessed and will be submitted to MEFT and the component authority (MIME) for approval.
Environmental Compliance Consultancy (Pty) Ltd. (ECC) hereby gives notice to all members of the public that an amendment application for an environmental clearance certificate in accordance with the Environmental Management Act, No. 7 of 2007 will be made for the proposed Twin Hills Gold Project in the Erongo Region. Members of the public are invited to register as an Interested and Affected Party (IAP) and provide input into the environmental and social impact assessment.
