The proposed Project is the construction of an 80 km hydrogen pipeline from the new green hydrogen plant in Arandis to the new green ammonia production plant on Farm 58 (near Dune 7). The purpose of the pipeline is to connect the new green hydrogen plant to the green ammonia production plant. A carbon steel pipeline will store 15 000 m3 hydrogen gas daily.
ECC has been contracted by Cleanergy Solutions Namibia (Pty) Ltd as the independent Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) to facilitate the entire ESIA process. Prior to the start of the proposed projects, an environmental clearance certificate is required in terms of the Environmental Management Act, 7 of 2007 and the associated EIA Regulations. A final decision relating to the above-mentioned application will be made by Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT): Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA).
