Gondwana Collection Namibia (Pty) Ltd propose to build a small boutique five (5) room lodge on Farm Draaihoek No. 119 (a privately-owned farm) in the Hardap Region, Namibia.

Project Details

• The project has a small footprint (~490 m²).
• The five (5) accommodation pods will be prefabricated off-site, then transported and assembled on-site therefore there will be negligible construction impacts.
• A staff lodge (±0.2ha / 2,000 m²), housing all staff that will service the 5x pods. The staff lodge will consist of 20x on-suite rooms, a kitchen, dining, bar and entertainment area.

ECC’s Role

ECC has been engaged by Gondwana Collection Namibia (Pty) Ltd. as the independent Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) to facilitate the ESIA screening process and develop an Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP). Prior to the start of the proposed projects, an environmental clearance certificate is required in terms of the Environmental Management Act, 7 of 2007 and the associated EIA Regulations. A final decision relating to the above-mentioned application will be made by Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT): Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA).
