The Proponent Votorantim Metals Namibia (Pty) Ltd, proposes the exploration of base and rare metals, industrial metals and precious metals on EPL 8403. The Proponent proposes to conduct exploration by using methods that may include geological mapping, geochemical surveys, geophysical surveys, RAB and RC drilling. The EPL is located located 6km north of Kombat in the Otjozondjupa Region. Access to the EPL can be obtained via the B1 road toward Otavi.

ECC’s Role

ECC has been contracted by Votorantim Metals Namibia (Pty) Ltd as the independent Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EPA) to facilitate the entire ESIA process. Prior to the start of the proposed projects, an environmental clearance certificate is required in terms of the Environmental Management Act, 7 of 2007 and the associated EIA Regulations. A final decision relating to the above-mentioned application will be made by Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT): Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA)
