The proposed exploration activities for base and rare metals, industrial minerals and precious metals on EPLs 7212, 7789, 7964, 7970, 7971, 7972 and 7974, in the Khomas, Kunene and Otjozondjupa Regions

Votorantim Metals is a large international group that undertakes base mineral exploration activities in Namibia. Votorantim Metals Namibia proposes to undertake low impact exploration activities on EPLs 7212, 7789, 7964, 7970, 7971, 7972 and 7974  in search of base and rare metals, industrial minerals and precious metals.

ECC’s Role

Environmental Compliance Consultancy (ECC) has been engaged by the proponent (Votorantim Metals Namibia (Pty) Ltd) to undertake an ESIA and an Environmental Management Plan (EMP) in terms of the Environmental Management Act, 2007 and its regulations. An environmental clearance application will be submitted to the relevant competent authorities, the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) and Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT).
