ECC's Role

The purpose of this request for amendment is for a 10.8MW solar upgrade to the existing power plant approved through the Otjikoto environmental clearance certificate Request for Amendment assessment Report – detailing an environmental impact assessment of the proposed changes. Provide a detailed description of the proposed activity. Identify all legislation and guidelines that have reference to the proposed project. Identify existing environmental (both bio-physical and socio-economic) conditions of the area in order to determine their environmental sensitivity. Consider the potential environmental and social impacts of the development, and assess the significance of the identified impacts. Outline management and mitigation measures in an Environmental Management Plan (EMP) to minimize and/or mitigate potentially negative. Ecological Vertebrate Fauna and Flora Assessment – Specialist study of project specific area to identify potential impacts for the project. EMP Addendum 1 – Solar Plant (PV) EMP: This EMP is specific for the operations of the solar plant to minimize any potential negative impacts and enhance positive aspects associated with the project.
